Create Reflection

Provides specific written, audio or visual commentary outlining the ways in which the Create lessons have prepared the instructor to meet each standard listed. Response thoroughly addresses each standard (Standards B, C, E and K) individually and insightfully.

Consider the following standards:

Standard B: The online teacher understands and is able to use a range of technologies, both existing and emerging, that effectively support student learning and engagement in the online environment.Standard C: The online teacher plans, designs, and incorporates strategies to encourage active learning, application, interaction, participation, and collaboration in the online environment.
Standard E: The online teacher models, guides, and encourages legal, ethical, and safe behavior related to technology use.
Standard K: The online teacher arranges media and content to help students and teachers transfer knowledge most effectively in the online environment.

Create Reflection: Provides screenshots of artifacts that address each standard (Standards B, C, E, K) individually, and that support the Create capstone reflection.
Standard B:   The Create module helped me prepare to meet this standard specifically because of Section 2: Web Tools, with this module being one of the most intriguing. The specific lesson that I will apply to my online teaching using Powtoon animation web-based software students to create a final product.

Example of a lesson integrating Powtoon animation as the student deliverable.

These tools add a lot of variety for me as an instructor but also integrate technology into the learning environment in a way that benefits the student.
Standard C:  The Create module helped me prepare to meet this standard specifically because of Section 1: Planning. The specific lesson that I will apply to my online teaching is the content map. Content maps help student and teachers equally by allowing a free flow of information that can then be organized and placed in an order of importance.

Standard E: The Create model helped me to prepare to meet this standard specifically because of Section 3: Open Educational Resources. Education personnel and students need to know guidelines and digital citizenship practices. This important module specifically addresses fundamental norms to follow.

Standard K: The Create module helped me prepare to meet this standard specifically because of Section 4: Learning Object Authoring. This lesson specifically showed helpful resources and content available. These were a great example of user-friendly authoring tools for a novice teacher–which allow for subject integration, rich lesson content and accessible activities.

Create Reflection: Strategies learned within this unit include knowing the resources available for use and how most efficiently to present, obtain resources and create lesson plans that benefit the students while meeting objectives and being technologically relevant.
