Answer in your blog: What are your teaching strengths?
My teaching strengths are initiating personalized instruction and showing a genuine interest in my students. That interest helps me get to know the students, provide individualized attention and help them succeed. Keeping up to date with technology, new methodologies, software and techniques helps maintain a classroom of current and interesting information. With that, I try to make use of technology to assist in teaching and find new ways of imparting knowledge.

What are your teaching weaknesses?
My teaching weaknesses sometime are time management specific to planning and creating assets. In an effort to incorporate different elements and extra information, I find it’s easy to get sidetracked with the digital tools available. I also recognize when I need to change my teaching approach for instance if students are struggling with comprehension.

Provide a reflection how Evaluate has prepared you to teach online:
The entire module was beneficial and helpful particularly the information about technology in education and how to look at data results, specifically features in an LMS and heatmaps. Once seeing the results, one is able to determine how to move forward with targeted unit planning goals. Also valuable was the section on summative and formative assessments in obtaining student results and personalizing instruction to help struggling students.

Teaching Philosophy:
As an educator, I encourage life–long and meaningful learning while building on students’ existing knowledge. It’s important to facilitate the education of students from diverse backgrounds and recognize that each one learns in a unique way. My philosophy revolves around being a mentor, getting to know the students and guide their creative journey with thumbnails sketches and comprehensive design using a variety of drawing media. Establishing fundamental drawing skills will aid in their success. Once ideas are on paper a digital version is created. Course content would also be hands-on learning, critiques and art history references, while focusing on similarities between art and graphic design. Graphic design guidelines established by The American Institute of Graphic Arts (AIGA) will be used To aid in helping students develop as designers, I will share my own enthusiasm for visual storytelling through drawing, problem solving, and exploring new ways of experiencing and thinking about the world.
